Disability:IN Connecticut held its Virtual Annual Meeting on October 22nd
from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Along with our partners, sponsors, members, executive director and board members, we celebrated Connecticut’s 26+ years of disability employment leadership and innovation, honoring our state’s business leaders who make this happen.
The amazing keynote address was given by Connecticut’s State Treasurer Shawn Wooden. Mr. Wooden spoke about his leadership role in the movement to recruit his counterparts throughout the country to use the power of their investment dollars to foster disability inclusion by investing exclusively in businesses which are committed to disability inclusion in their workplaces. He discussed how the State of Connecticut through his office is supporting people with disabilities through access to ABLE investment accounts. Click the link below to see the ~7 minute keynote.
A special best practices presentation was given by Tom Gustafson, V.P. Human Resources at Sephora who shared the story of Sephora’s disability inclusion journey.
