Disability: IN Connecticut Member Bayada Receives Diversity Award from Newsweek

We are proud to announce that Disability: IN Connecticut member business Bayada has been named a 2023 America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity.  Newsweek created this survey and Award in order to offer job seekers, consumers and potential partners a true picture of a company’s commitment to diversity.  It is a scored list of 1,000 companies rated by employees for their respect for the value of “different kinds of people.”

With the assistance of market data research firm Plant-A- Insights, Newsweek based its scoring on a “review of publicly available data, interviews with HR professionals and an anonymous online survey of a diverse pool of employees at companies with 1,000 or more employees in the U.S. Respondents were asked questions about corporate culture, working environment and other subjects at both their own companies and others they were familiar with. The survey yielded more than 350,000 company reviews.”

Bayada Home Health Care provides home health care services allowing people with disabilities and older adults the freedom to live at home.

Joe Wendover, Director of Diversity and Inclusion at Bayada and Disability: IN Connecticut Board President in partnership with Bayada’s top leaders and a great team of Diversity professionals has successfully worked to create a culture of inclusion in Bayada’s workforce.  As Joe states in the Bayada DEI Report, “A successful diversity, equity, and inclusion team is one that not only provides the organization with seeds, but also the constant watering and care needed to develop deep roots and grow the garden.”

One of the hallmarks of a successful DEI initiative is the commitment of the top leadership in a company.  In his message of introduction to the Bayada Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Report, CEO David Baiada says “All thanks to colleagues who are brave and vulnerable enough to speak up and get involved, this process is improving how we listen and communicate, how we set the highest standards, how we treat each other, and how we make BAYADA a place where every employee can feel like they belong, and every client can receive personalized care with a sense of well-being, dignity, and trust.  I am so excited and proud to be a part of it.”

Bayada understands the true spirit of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.  Congratulations to Joe Wendover and Bayada for this well-deserved recognition.
