Disability Awareness/Etiquette:

Understanding Disability from the Inside-Out© is a highly reviewed, unique and interactive awareness training designed to give executive, human resources, management and team members an understanding of attitudes towards disability and how to create positive cultural change. Interactive exercises, sharing of experiences and stories laced with humor make this an enjoyable and highly effective training experience. Disability Etiquette/Awareness training is mandated for hiring professionals employed by federal contractors under Section 503 and recommended for all employees of businesses which seek to diversify their workforces to include individuals with disabilities.

 

Americans with Disabilities Act:

Complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act© is a training customized to the needs of the employer. The training can cover the basics of compliance or detailed information on such subjects as compliance as it applies to the application and hiring process, accommodations and architectural accessibility. Instructor and creator of the training, Sharon Denson has been approved as a trainer by the EEOC. This training has been designed to alleviate your concerns about complying with the ADA thereby simplifying the process of diversifying your workforce. Training for Federal Contractors:

The training for federal contractors is created and taught by Sharon Denson, M.Ed., J.D., a subject matter expert on Section 503 and VEVRAA and a recognized thought leader in disability diversity. Ms. Denson has a unique combination of legal knowledge combined with familiarity with the service providers which work with individuals with disabilities who are seeking employment. You will learn both the law and connections to the resources you need to comply with these regulations.

Complying with Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act©: designed by Section 503 expert, Sharon Denson, this training reviews each of the changes made to Section 503 as of March 2014 and what OFCCP requires of federal contractors under the revisions. The training includes strategies and resources for reaching the 7% utilization goal. This type of training is mandated by the revised regulation.

Complying with VEVRAA©: is a training which reviews the changes made to VEVRAA and what federal contractors must do to comply with these revisions. As with the Section 503 training, the VEVRAA training includes strategies and resources for reaching your veterans hiring goal.

Training for Service Providers

Maximizing Your Effectiveness as a Job Developer© is a training designed to educate job developers on how to understand the needs of both job seekers and employers so that they can do outstanding work in fulfilling their needs. Role plays, exercises, stories and examples are used to educate and motivate job developers so they can understand the important role which they play in the life and careers of the job seekers and employers which they serve.

Section 503 for Service Providers© In March 2014, Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act was changed from a non-discrimination regulation to an affirmative action regulation requiring that federal contractors which do an aggregate of more than $10,000.00 with the federal government must work towards the goal of having 7% of their workforce be individuals with disabilities. Federal contractors with 50 or more employees and $50,000.00 in federal contracts must put into place an affirmative action plan for the reaching of this hiring goal. This revised regulation has created an unprecedented opportunity for service providers seeking to place their job seekers. Section 503 for Service Providers educates service providers on the relevant parts of the Revised Section 503 in order to take advantage of this opportunity.
